It works when I’m not working.
I’ve been using Grok Bot for a few days, and it fills a space that ChatGPT, Codex, and Claude Code haven’t quite filled for me.
The others often feel desperate to stop, summarize, and ask, “What next?” Grok Bot keeps going.
A little-known fact about me: if I’m working into the evening, there’s a good chance I have The Great British Bake Off playing in the background.
So what better test project than a website collecting the recipe for every Hollywood Handshake bake from the show?
And thus handshake-worthy was born.
Then I thought: why not pictures of the bakes? Why not pictures of the handshakes themselves? Why not FAQs about when the next season starts?
Those recipes and pictures are actually harder to find than you’d think. But I get a couple of pings a day with another find: a photo of Jasmine’s handshake, then one of Christiaan’s.
By then, I’ve entirely forgotten it’s still working.
I also pointed it at the Reddit post where I shared the site. Now it monitors the comments, asks whether I want to respond, and sends me text notifications.
I’m used to AI helping while I’m at the keyboard. This project kept moving after I’d stopped thinking about it.
That’s the part I want more of.
